KLAIPĖDA PIANO MASTERS 2025

July 16-27, 2025 in Klaipėda, Lithuania

 

KLAIPĖDA PIANO MASTERS 2025 for the 9th time invites pianists from all over the world to receive knowledge and training whilst discovering the beauty of the Lithuanian coast of the Baltic Sea. Our academy is tailored to the needs of a 21st century pianist seeking a career in the music business. The program of the academy consists of several equally important ingredients - piano lessons and practice, stage experience, and career building classes.

In addition to piano lessons and concert performances, students of KPM 2025 will be offered lectures and workshops on important subjects, including:

  • Efficient piano practice

  • Performance psychology

  • Self-management

  • Career organization

  • Building a portfolio

  • Recital and competition programming

  • Stage presence

  • History of interpretation

  • Contemporary piano repertoire

  • 2025 special: Scarlatti interpretation

Participation is open to pianists from 14 to 32 years old, although in exceptional cases we will be glad to accept younger or elder candidates, depending on their prior experiences and future goals. In this case, please contact us before sending the application.

 

The tuition fee for active participation is 620€. It includes three individual piano lessons with Mr. Gintaras Januševičius, ten group lectures and workshops, one personal performance psychology consultation with Mr. Macdara Ó Seireadáin, one pilates lesson, and at least two performances at the concert tour. Lodging, practice facilities, and transportation to all KPM 2025 events outside of the Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts are also included in the fee.

All lessons and lectures of KPM 2025 will take place at the Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts. Participants will be provided with shared practice facilities and rehearsal space 24 hours a day. All students of the course will be lodged at the dormitory of the Gymnasium. All group lectures and workshops will be taught in English. Individual piano lessons may be taught in English, Lithuanian, German or Russian.

Participants have a free choice regarding their program for individual lessons and concerts. Additionally, all participants will be asked to prepare and perform one obligatory piece chosen from the list of 25 (2-5 minutes long, different difficulty levels). The list of obligatory repertoire will be made available to the chosen participants immediately upon transfer of the tuition fee.

All concert performances will be recorded. After the academy, students will be provided with their video performances for their own promotion.

Students of the edition may be awarded special prizes, including:

  • a full scholarship to attend the international winter piano academy "Feuerwerk" in Einbeck, Germany

  • a recital at the "TangoBrücke" concert and culture house in Einbeck, Germany

  • a recital at the Historic Dr. Barner Clinic in Braunlage, Germany

  • a recital at the St. Peter's Church in Riga, Latvia

  • a recital at the Klaipėda Concert Hall, Lithuania

  • a recital at the Organum Concert Hall in Vilnius, Lithuania

  • a recital at the Kaunas Philharmonic Society, Lithuania

  • a recital at the Paliesius Manor, Lithuania

  • a recital at the M. K. Čiurlionis Museum in Druskininkai, Lithuania

  • a recital at the Užutrakis Manor in Trakai, Lithuania

  • the Caleb Flick Memorial Prize, sponsored by G. Henle, consisting of urtext scores and dedicated to the loving memory of our KPM 2018 alumnus Caleb Flick (1985-2022)

Deadline for all applications is May 15, 2025. Late applications cannot be accepted.

 

Our course is limited to 25 active participants. The applicants will be selected by their CVs and notified of their acceptance by May 20, 2025. Invited applicants will be then asked to transfer the full tuition fee within two weeks.

 

All active participants must arrive at the Eduardas Balsys Gymnasium of Arts (Statybininkų pr. 2, Klaipėda) on July 16, 2025. KPM 2025 officially finishes on July 27, 2025, so students can plan their departure on July 28. Exceptions concerning arrival or departure dates may be made upon request.

A certificate of participation in English language will be issued to all participants.

 

Parents or teachers who wish to accompany minors must register as passive participants with all complying conditions and benefits.
